About Us

 

Amble In is a family run bed and breakfast B&B, recently renovated luxury accommodation located In Bryansford Gardens.  This is a quiet area just off the main street in Newcastle at the foot of the Mourne Mountains which is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Situated on the shores of Dundrum Bay (Murlough bay) our establishment enjoys a panoramic view of the Mourne Mountains.

 

This 90 year old house has been tastefully redesigned and fully renovated to be eco friendly by the present owners to preserve it's timeless character, atmosphere and charm and yet lends itself to modern day comforts.

 

All of our spacious bedrooms are en-suite with plasma TV’s, WiFi and tea and coffee making facilities. Child cot and pushchair is available for families who like to travel light.  We have a level access room with a wet room en-suite for the less able as well as off street parking, secure parking for bicycles/Motorcycles and kennel facilities for your canine friend.

 

We cater for the sport and business person alike on long or short stays, couples, and families looking for a relaxing break or an activity weekend. Our central location ensures that you are close to all shops, bars and restaurants and within walking distance of local amenities.

 

Newcastle offers a starting point for treks in the Mourne peaks, golf at the Royal County Down golf course or one of the ten other local courses. The Heritage Trail, visit 12th and 13th century Anglo-Norman castles, round towers, Passage burial caves, Follies, Dolmens, cashels and Souterrains. A drop-off and pickup service can be arranged for golfers and mountaineers and a drying room is available for those wet over clothes and walking boots/shoes. 

A libary of historical information and walking guides is available.

 

Other activities include sailing, water sports, horse-riding, angling, swimming, fishing, mountain climbing and cycling and is close to areas of local interest;

 

- Tollymore Forest Park, Castlewellan Forest Park, Silent Valley and Murlough Nature Reserve are all within a few miles.  We are a central base for activity in other parts of County Down.
