The Amble In is a new and innovative addition to the ever growing popularity of Luxury Homely Bed and Breakfast establishment in Newcastle situated a few hundred yards from the world famous Royal County Down golf course and Slieve Donard the highest of the Mourne Mountain renge. Amble In is a veritable haven of rest and relaxation for the discerning visitor.

Newcastle is one of the biggest jewels in Norther Ireland's tourism crown. Nestled at the feet of the Mourne Mountains - immortalised in the famous ballad by Percy French "Where the mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea" - is steeped in history and folklore. It was voted the best kept small town in Northern Ireland in 2008 and best kept town in Ireland 2009 it is a vibrant and popular seaside resort for young and old

The town proudly boasts an All-Ireland award winning promenade that epitomises Newcastle and its environs. It is also home to Royal County Down Golf Club, one of the best known courses in the world, several hotels, numerous eating establishments, hostels, bed and breakfasts.

Newcastle is also used as the gateway to the Mournes, one of the most popular & scenic areas in Ireland. The mountain range attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists every year and is packed with numerous natural phenomenon the Mourne Wall, Brandy Pad, The Silent Valley and other breath taking views.

The mountains are home to ravens, red grouse, peregrine falcons and are also an area of proposed special area of conservation and special scientific interests. Fulmars and black guillemots are another attraction from twitters as are the Manx Sheerwater and gannets that can be observed fishing out at sea.

The common lizard, the only reptile native to Ireland, has also been observed in the mountain range however Newcastle is best known for the world acclaimed Royal County Down golf course. The course regularly voted one of the top 5 courses in the world has hosted the British Senior Open, The Walker Cup and several other top competitions. it is also a popular haunt for the worlds top golfers who regularly play practice rounds there in preparation for bigger things.
